Random thoughts (really needing to just get stuff off of my chest....)

Sorry I have kept people waiting to hear about Sipalla. We did end up making the decision to have him put down. It was our only realistic option. When J went he said that he looked tired and ready to go. He was in pain and I am thankful that we did not prolong that through more surgery and possible recovery.

Our home is very different now. Quiet. Very quiet. The cats are around again and there are no barks... I miss him. He wasn't there waking me up this morning and he didn't drink my shower water.

I do believe that he was with us for a reason. He came from a really shitty situation and at least for awhile we were able to love him and give him a family. He loved to hike, play and snuggle and he fit right in here.

V is doing ok. She goes from playing to be being on the floor crying. It will be a process I am sure.

J on the other hand is really having a difficult time. I don't know what to do for him. He spends most of his time talking about Sipalla and crying. He is feeling some guilt and I think that only magnifies his grief. Suck a roo!!

Thanks for all of your kind thoughts. We need them.

I go to the Doctor a week from tomorrow so I will have more info then. I have had a few really queasy moments lately. Great.

So the circle of life continues in our family. Our puppy Sipalla (Polly) was hit by a car last night. And no- the car DID NOT STOP!! His arm is broken in two spots and his pelvis is broken in at least 4. Oh and his tail bone is broken as well. The vet said she was unable to move him for more X-rays so there very well could be more breaks... A mere $5,000.00 starting price tag was put on his surgeries. Jeff and I are beside ourselves. We want to do everything for him we can but now that we are pregnant we, at least I, feel we have a responsibility to make sure we don't put ourselves in a horrible situation. And the vet also mentioned that she was unsure he would be able to go to the bathroom independently after this. So months of recuperation and a possible recovery..

She is calling us later this am to get our decision. We both have barely slept.

I don't want to tell V. She has had too much go on already.

UGH!! I miss my dog.

Cinnamon bun

I can't believe it is almost been a month since I have posted. I am such a loser. But oh well. I am here now- with good news. Jeff and I found out that we have officially occupied my uterus!! That's right- the bun is cooking!! I hope it's cinnamon rather than rye. I go to the OB on 10-4 and will have more info then. They were thinking 6-7 weeks already. That's good. No sickness as of yet. YEAH! But boy do my boobs feel like they are going to explode! OUCH! Lots going on here as you can tell. V is very happy! She actually sings to my belly...
